5 Days

Selous & Mikumi Safari from Zanzibar | Southern Tanzania Safari

Tour Overview

Discover the best of Tanzania’s Southern Safari Circuit with this 5 Days Selous and Mikumi Safari from Zanzibar. This adventure combines Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous Game Reserve) — one of Africa’s largest protected wildlife areas — with Mikumi National Park, known for its open plains and excellent game viewing.

Nyerere National Park offers boat safaris on the Rufiji River, walking safaris, and classic game drives in a vast wilderness of over 50,000 km². It is home to elephants, lions, leopards, African wild dogs, buffalo, hippos, crocodiles, and more than 350 bird species.

Mikumi National Park, often compared to the Serengeti due to its wide-open landscapes, provides almost guaranteed wildlife sightings, including giraffes, zebras, elephants, wildebeest, and predators. This safari is perfect for travelers looking for diverse safari activities — game drives, boat safaris, and
walking safaris — combined with scenic landscapes and rich wildlife encounters.
